Who hasn’t heard of Harry Potter? Whether it is the movie series or the original novel series by J.K Rowling, we have loved this character equally in both measures (maybe, we slightly love the book more than the movie series, but that is to be expected, right?).
Harry is a pretty normal boy, who discovers he is a wizard on his 11th birthday. The orphan child then attends Hogwarts, an institute for wizardry and witchcraft. Although this might seem like enough information for the 11-year-old, there is more to it.
Upon attending Hogwarts, Harry learns that somehow, he is already well known in the wizard community. The reason for that is later revealed. Harry’s fate is somehow tied to a dark, sinister wizard Voldemort, the same person responsible for the death of his parents.
J.K Rowling has done such an excellent job with the characters that despite the fantasy theme, we have no problem imagining the magical world. She has given careful thought to intricate details and characterizations. We absolutely love how everything just… fits together. Like a perfect puzzle, there are no missing pieces, no plot holes, and no ambiguities.
How Tall is Harry Potter?
That is quite a difficult question to answer in all honesty. As the series starts when Harry is barely 12, his height changes throughout the series. Of course, the first growth spurt in most boys doesn’t happen before they hit their teen years.
In addition to this, there is an inconsistency in the character’s real height and the actor’s height who plays it (aka Daniel Radcliffe). Daniel Radcliffe is only 5 foot 5 inches, which makes the on-screen character, Harry Potter the same height. However, in the books, J.K Rowling has described Harry Potter as taller and lankier. His height in the books is more- 5 foot and 8 inches.
Some users on Reddit have inferred from the books that Harry might even be taller than 5’8″ in the books. So, there is a little ambiguity over the real height of Harry Potter in the book series since J.K Rowling never explicitly stated the height of characters. It was always stated relatively to other characters which led to each person having their own guesses.
But that’s the fun of reading books, right? It is always different for each person reading it. So, that leaves us with the only one height we are absolutely certain of, that is the height of the actor who plays Harry Potter- Daniel Radcliffe.
